p.s. no need to reply I know you are very busy.

  2. Hi Irene,

Just wondering if you have a recipe for genips? I know they can be used in jellies and juices, but not sure how to go about it. Any advice would be appreciated!

  3. Dear Karen, thanks for stopping by! 🙂

I am ok my friend. Lots of rain rain rain…the creek running this farm got flooded so bad I couldn’t get out this property until the waters calmed down. This is one of the advantages of leaving in the mountains 🙂
The big problem was the electricity. I came to post after 4 days of complete blackout and 3 days later we still had no power. The voltage was so weak I couldn’t get my pc’s running in such little electricity. Yesterday, Sept 11th the power was finally restored.
Thanks for your prayers Karen…. they were heard because I am safe, Thanks!

    Hugs,
    Irene

  4. Hola Melissa 🙂

I always ate quenepas as a fresh fruit…but I’ve heard of neighbors making rice with quenepas and beer(Arroz con quenepas y cerveza) the same way we make Rice & Beans all together, just substituting the beans for quenepas and the water for beer. The juice? I don’t know…never tried it..but I assume it is made the same way Parcha (passion fruit) juice is made by straining the pulp then adding water and sugar. Then I assume if you take that pulp and add cinnamon & sugar you’ll have a jelly.

Dang I’m good! ha ha ha… I should try my own recipes! lol
